The Eco Can Wait: Intra-African Trade First

Image
ECOWAS's single currency project, named the eco, rests on strict convergence criteria. These are divided into two categories: four primary criteria and two secondary criteria. Primary criteria: ● Budget deficit: no more than 3% of GDP (grants included, on a commitment basis). ● Inflation rate: no more than 5% per year, with an average targeted in the low single digits. ● Central bank financing of the deficit: no more than 10% of the previous year's tax revenue. ● Foreign exchange reserves: covering at least three months of imports. Secondary criteria: ● Public debt: no more than 70% of GDP. ● Exchange rate variation: kept within a fixed, controlled margin. Yet to date, no ECOWAS country fully meets all of these conditions. 2026 World Cup: sacrificing sport on the altar of entertainment.

How captivating and thrilling sport can be! An entire planet found itself spellbound by the exploits of this 2026 World Cup, almost overshadowing the resurgence of the conflict between the USA, Israel, and Iran — which, mind you, sent oil prices soaring. Football, that massive weapon of mass entertainment, galvanizes crowds and unites them in a collective intoxication: the spectacle. The global frenzy sparked by the World Cup hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico is striking proof of this. This enthusiasm, fueled also by continental competitions — the Euros, the Africa Cup of Nations, the Copa America — and by European leagues, confirms a truth: people love football. But this love is tempered by a certain disillusionment with local championships, particularly in Africa. It truly ignites when the best face the best. This is precisely why tournaments between nations and ...

The animal man.

Image
When a human's level of consciousness decreases, he becomes like an animal but with superior thinking abilities because he is a human being (hyper consciousness), the movie, “The planet of the Apes” is the perfect illustration of this. As a result, man at a low level of consciousness is concerned about his own survival and that of his offspring. He limits himself to the preservation of his clan and his species; to others, he applies the law of the jungle without any remorse. The lion has no remorse when it kills an antelope or massacres a leopard that ventures into its territory, or even another lion; such is the animal man whose level of consciousness is low; he sees the human species throughout different races as a means of ensuring his survival, and that of his family. So, if endowed with great intelligence, which he often increases through the acquisition of knowledge, he therefore uses it to reign over others because he sees humanity as a jungle, not as a garden ...
