COHERENCE: A plea to Elon Musk
Coherence is a relationship of harmony or logical organization between elements. Coherence allows everything to be organized in a harmonious way; as the jargon says, "everything is well put together" and "everything works wonderfully." This is why a man who lacks coherence is not in harmony within himself; when the system is not in harmony, the results are bad decisions, which also justify the lack of coherence.
In engineering terms, when a system is well put together, everything goes well, and we get the expected result: "everything is perfect in the best of all possible worlds."
Our dysfunctional world is the result of the lack of coherence of our leaders; their systems do not work well, and we have international organizations that have been around for ages doing nothing. An organization (FAO) has been fighting against hunger in the world for years, but hunger persists, and recently Elon Musk asked them to share with him a plan that works to end hunger in the world. While human beings were starving to death, the UN had no plan to help them, but the FAO was created for this purpose. This is what the lack of coherence produces: how can an organization fighting hunger have a budget greater than the cost of hunger?
The sad part is that there is a reserve of wheat and other foods that are perishing, but there are people who are starving.
The billionaire Elon Musk says he is going to give USD 6 billion to end world hunger. He is waiting for a plan from the UN, "the organization without a plan," an organization waiting for people to kill each other to send its blue helmets. What plan does Elon Musk expect from the UN? This is why coherence refers to organization, and an organization is something of a thought. Is the UN doing what it was designed to do? No, it is not; it has been like that since their inception in 1945.
In order for Elon Musk to become a billionaire and be able to make a $6 billion donation, he simply made good business decisions and profits in his businesses. Is the UN a good investment for $6 billion? An organization which bases its budget on donations, not productivity, and which does not meet its objectives, the UN has never solved anything in the world. We still have the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (which has even become business as usual for some), the Syrian conflict, Africa and its rebellions, Al-Qaida, the Islamic State, the USA-Iraq tensions, the return of the Taliban to power, the conflict in the Sahel, etc.
The world split into two blocks when the UN was created; how can such an organization unite the world?
The lack of consistency doesn't produce good results. If Elon Musk's goal is to end world hunger, he has our full support, but please don't give this money to the UN. Africa is one of the continents most affected by hunger, and as an African, I am making a plea to Elon Musk to reconsider his decision to donate to the UN. OUR WISH IS FOR HUNGER TO BE ERADICATED IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
NB: Elon Musk can organize a competition to determine the best start-up with a $6 billion plan to end world hunger.
