The Origin of Money: Envy, Greed, and the Fall of Harmony.
Envy is the Seed of Evil—and the Root of Money.
In the Quoran and in the Bible’s Book of Ezekiel (28), Shaytan’s rebellion began with envy—a desire to usurp God’s glory. This same destructive impulse birthed money.
God provided humanity with everything needed for a harmonious existence: food from plants and animals, shelter from natural materials, water from rivers, and clothing from animal skins. Work was simple—harvest, hunt, build—yet sufficient. But then came envy, and with it, the corruption of this divine order.
How Envy Invented Money
Imagine early humans living in clans, clad in basic animal hides. Among them, a skilled craftsman emerged, transforming rough skins into exquisite garments. When others saw his creations, they coveted them—not out of necessity, but desire. This was the birth of envy: the heart longing for what the eyes behold.
To acquire these superior clothes, people bartered—offering extra hides, tools, or labor. Thus, value became transactional. As demand grew beyond the clan, the craftsman evolved into a businessman, scaling production, hiring workers, and sourcing more skins. Competition arose. Animals were no longer hunted just for food but for fashion. The ecosystem, once balanced, was now exploited.
The Collapse of Communal Harmony
Some societies resisted this decay. Indigenous tribes, like Native Americans, assigned roles based on skill—hunters, builders, healers—each contributing to the collective without money. True communism, in its purest form. But envy shattered this equilibrium.
The film "The Gods Must Be Crazy" mirrors this: a single Coca-Cola bottle, an alien object of desire, disrupts a peaceful village, sparking conflict. Likewise, envy transforms want into greed, cooperation into competition, and harmony into chaos.
Money: A Tool Corrupted by Human Nature
Money itself is not evil—it is a brilliant solution to barter’s limitations. Transporting cows for trade is impractical; currency streamlines exchange. Yet, when fueled by envy, money becomes a weapon. Today, only 3% of global transactions represent real goods—the rest is speculative greed.
History’s greatest crimes—colonialism, wars, exploitation—stem from envy. Europe invaded Africa for survival, for plunder. The conquerors wanted what wasn’t theirs, refusing fair exchange. Envy breeds greed; greed justifies theft.
The False Solutions: Religion and Science
Religion claims to uplift but often monetizes spirituality—charging for blessings, selling salvation. Science, meant to heal, now profits from disease, inventing ailments to peddle cures. Both fail to address the root problem: the human heart.
The only path back: spiritual transformation
External systems cannot fix internal brokenness. Laws, religions, and economies are Band-Aids on a wound of envy. The solution is spiritual awakening—a return to love, wisdom, and contentment.
Elephants don’t envy lions’ manes; nature thrives without possession. But humans, infected by envy, disrupt ecosystems, wage wars, and hoard wealth. To restore balance, we must:
1. Renounce envy—desire less, appreciate more.
2. Rediscover communal purpose—work for collective good, not personal gain.
3. Embrace spiritual science—not dogma, but inner alchemy that transforms greed into generosity.
A World Beyond Envy
Money, stripped of envy, is harmless—a tool for fair exchange. But in a loveless world, money and envy are allies. To break this bond, we must change hearts, not systems.
When love guides action, harmony returns. The Kingdom of Heaven isn’t a place—it’s a state of being. And it begins within.
